Install VNC xfce desktop
Run following commands from terminal then you will have nice xfce deskotp through VNC protocol to use. Firefox will be installed as your browser.
sudo apt update
sudo apt install vnc4server -y
sudo apt install xfce4 xfce4-goodies -y
sudo apt install firefox -y
vncpasswd
sudo vncserver -geometry 1366x768
To run the VNC: sudo vncserver -geometry 1920×1080
Now, go to the container settings and do a port forwarding rule with the port: 5901
- From container setting page, enable VNC port:5901
- Copy remote connection link to VNC for connection
- Download VNC client from https://www.realvnc.com/en/connect/download/viewer/
- Don’t disconnect your SSH connection, else your desktop will not work. You will have to delete to re-deploy it again.
Troubleshooting
If you only got a grey desktop after logged in and could not see anything else, you might need to change xstartup file a bit then restart the vnc server to fix this issue..
